Abstract
The paper gives a brief review of the effect of ultrasonic agitation on the properties of electrodeposited metals. The results of experiments conducted on the ultrasonic bombardment of metals immersed in water and copper electroplated from the acid sulphate bath are described. The change in hardness of annealed nickel sheet produced by immersion in water subjected to ultrasound is shown graphically. The hardness of nickel plated from the Watts, chloride, sulphate, sulphamate and fluoborate baths in the still, magnetically stirred and ultrasonically agitated conditions is given, together with the standard deviation. The appearance of these deposits is in a series of photographs. Keywords
