Abstract
Yeast have many genes with homologs in humans. Has our understanding of these genes helped our understanding of human biology or disease? In his Perspective, Botstein argues "yes" and, as an example, discusses a report in this week9s issue by Sinclair et al. on the yeast homolog of the gene whose dysfunction causes a disease of premature aging, Werner syndrome. Keywords
