Abstract
1.) The oestrogen content of human ovaries during the menstrual cycle in ectopic pregnancy and in different gynaecological diseases was studied with paperchromatography. 2.) The presence of oestriol was also detected during the cycle as well as during pregnancy. 3.) The oestrogen values of pregnancy were found to exceed strikingly those of the cycle, especially the increase of quantity of the oestriol was very conspicuous. 4.) In the Stein-Leventhal syndrome the ovaries contained a considerable amount of oestrogen, exceeding the normal values of the cycle.
