Abstract
Near nesting of the Fermi surface can lead to low-frequency spin-density, charge-density and lattice modes at wave vectors connecting the nested regions. We find that the exchange of these excitations leads to a superconducting coupling constant for d-wave pairing which is enhanced near the Fermi-surface instability. Keywords
