Abstract
The sensitivity reduction resulting from a loss of fringe visibility due to the limited coherence of the broad-band source in a fiber-optic gyroscope is observed. The experimental data is well described by coherence theory assuming a Gaussian spectral shape for the superluminescent diode source. Keywords
