Spin extraction in hybrid semiconductor/ferromagnet structures
Abstract
We study the coupling of a metastable bound state in a semiconductor to the exchange-split bands of a ferromagnet. This state is formed by a inhomogeneous doping profile next to the semiconductor/ferromagnet interface. Its influence on the transport explains a recent puzzling result by spin imaging measurement which had clearly contradicted the current understanding of spin extraction.Keywords
