Laboratory rearing of Ctenopseustis obliquana (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) on an artificial diet

Abstract
Ctenopseustis obliquana (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) was reared on an artificial diet containing Acmena smithii (Merr. and L. M. Perry) leaf powder, at 20 .+-. 1.degree. C, 50-60% RH and 18 h photoperiod. The average life cycle parameters were: egg development, 9 days; larval period, .male. 32.1 and .female. 36.1 days; prepupal period, .male. 3.1 and .female. 3.5 days; pupal weight, .male. 45.6 and .female. 59.3 mg; pupal period, .male. 16.4 and .female. 13.8 days; neonate to adult .male. 51.3, and .female. 52.3 days; fecundity, 670 eggs per female. Larvae exhibited 5 or 6 instars, .male. 46% and .female. 86% having a 6th larval instar. Twenty-five successive generations have been reared.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
