Abstract
Urinary tract infection (UTI) in children can be difficult to diagnose, particularly in the first year of life, but prompt diagnosis and effective treatment are crucial. Renal damage can result from UTI, and when it does, it occurs early in life. In addition, recurrence rates are high. Dr Hamburger outlines general information about UTI in children and emphasizes the importance of close follow-up after a first episode. Keywords
