Abstract
DURING the seven years 1941 to 1947 reasonably accurate records of swimming-pool attendance and of the incidence of respiratory-tract and communicable diseases have been kept at a boys' boarding school in Massachusetts for the purpose of determining whether a difference in frequency of these illnesses existed between those who used and those who did not use the swimming pool. Only boarding students have been considered in these records because of the difficulty of accurately determining the nature of all day students' illnesses.
