Abstract
The intensities of emission of Eu3+ in the alkali metal ion rare‐earth tungstates can be greatly enhanced by incorporating Tb3+ as part of the host lattice. The degree of enhancement appears to be proportional to the terbium concentration. The gain in the intensity of emission of Eu3+ that is attributable to interaction with Tb3+ is related to the lattice cohesive force operating on the europium ion. Keywords
