Abstract
An automatically recording magnetic balance is described which uses an electromagnetic feedback to balance the force on a sample placed in a non-uniform magnetic field. This apparatus has been used for the quantitative determination of the ferromagnetic phases present in iron hydrocarbon synthesis catalysts and for studying the reactions of gases with iron compounds. Typical data are presented. Keywords
