Polarization corrections of dispersion characteristics of optical waveguides

Abstract
The polarization corrections to optical waveguide dispersion characteristics from the scalar wave equations are calculated by an improved perturbation formula and a vector variational expression. More-accurate predictions than with the conventional first-order perturbation theory are demonstrated.Keywords
