Cholestatic Hepatitis Associated with Trifluoperazine

Abstract
TRIFLUOPERAZINE, a recently introduced A phenothiazine derivative, is closely related chemically to prochlorperazine.§ Recently, in a patient receiving this drug¶ the clinical, laboratory and biopsy findings of cholestatic hepatitis identical with that seen with other phenothiazine compounds developed. To our knowledge this is the first reported case of hepatitis attributable to this drug.Case ReportA 48-year-old man was admitted to the Veterans Administration Hospital, Philadelphia, on September 13, 1960.
