Abstract
Drugs were given to mice with regular estrus cycles by drug-diet administration or in drinking water ad libitum for approximately 20 days. The following decreases in the number of estrus cycles were obtained: 83.6% with 0.001% reserpine, 70.0% with 0.3% chlorpromazine, 78.1% with 0.2% promazine, 71.1% with 0.3% promethazine, 88.8 to 100% with 1.0% phenaglycodol, 88.8% with 3.0% meprobamate, 100% with 0.2% phenobarbital, 92.0% with 20% ethyl alcohol, 73.5% with 0.1% atropine and 88.6% with 1.0% SKF 501. A marked loss in body weight was not associated with these effects except in the case of promazine. Keywords
