Abstract
For pt.I see ibid., vol.11, p.2907 (1978). Polarised-orbital calculations in the frozen-core, adiabatic local exchange approximation are presented for the low-energy elastic scattering of electrons from argon, krypton and xenon. The core electrons of the atom are assumed to be frozen (i.e. not polarised), the polarisation of the valence electrons is treated using a perturbed Hartree-Fock scheme, and the exchange kernels in the scattering ansatz are approximated by an equivalent local potential. Partial-wave phaseshifts and scattering cross sections are presented. Keywords
