Abstract
The results of detailed experimental study of the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity of a two-dimensional superconductor in the transition region are discussed in terms of a model which treats the critical region as well as the classical regions above and below the superconducting transition temperature . The data taken below suggest a means of distinguishing the contribution to the broadening of the resistive transition due to sample inhomogeneity from that due to intrinsic fluctuations.
