Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A 12-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital because of meningitis.Growth had ceased at the age of nine years, and no secondary sex characteristics had developed. During the six months before admission she experienced cold intolerance, urinary frequency, nocturia and polydipsia. Three days before admission she became listless, febrile and disoriented, and stiffness of the neck developed. She was referred to this hospital.The temperature was 37.7°C, the pulse 125, and the respirations 22. The blood pressure was 105/80 mm Hg.
