Abstract
Trees of the sweet cherry varieties Burgsdorf, Bedford Prolific, and Dawson growing in three districts in New Zealand have shown small fruit symptoms typical of little cherry virus infection. The virus was identified by the premature leaf colouration and defoliation of the indicator varieties Sam and Van. Little cherry virus has also been detected in symptomless trees of the variety Williams Favourite. Keywords
