Does aminotriazole inhibit import of catalase into peroxisomes by retarding unfolding?

Abstract
Fusion of complementary cell lines from patients with diseases of peroxisome biogenesis leads to peroxisome assembly in the heterokaryons and to uptake of cytosolic catalase by the newly peroxisomes. Here we show that catalase import is inhibited by prior binding to catalase of the inhibitor 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, which appears to retard unfolding of the protein.Keywords
