Abstract
A method to evaluate renal function ex vivo after renal preservation has proved to be successful and practical. A total of 114 kidneys were preserved by various techniques and observed for long periods for ultimate survival. Early renal blood flow greater than 1 cc/gm/min was a reliable indicator of renal survival. Furthermore, renal blood flows above this level can be used to predict the degree of renal function as determined by postoperative blood urea nitrogen levels. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
