Abstract
The most interesting development over the past year has been the emergence of data suggesting that personality traits, rather than depressive symptoms or subtypes, are key variables in the prediction of treatment response and, perhaps, treatment selection. Future studies need to replicate these findings, or otherwise confirm the possible role of Beck's sociotropy-autonomy personality traits and of Cloninger's temperament traits as predictors of treatment response. Keywords
