Abstract
The incidence of basal cell carcinoma of the vulva is 2% to 3% of all vulvar malignancies. It occurs most commonly in patients over 60 years old. Leukoplakia is not a predisposing factor. Treatment of choice is wide local excision although some authors recommend a regional node dissection if any squamous cell component is present. The use of curettage followed by electrodesiccation is briefly discussed. Keywords
