Abstract
A superfluid sound transducer, consisting of an oscillating piston behind a rigid superleak, was developed by Peshkov to generate second sound in superfluid helium. We have calcualted its driving efficiency and shown that this transducer is, irrespective of the temperature, as good a generator of second sound as the oscillating superleak transducer. Keywords
