Abstract
High-power, 1.55 µm pulses have been produced using a erbium-doped fibre amplifier in a gated-loop geometry. The 2 ns pulses in a singlemode output fibre had a peak power of 1.8 kW and an energy of 1.1 µJ.Keywords
