Abstract
The author describes a chromogenic, non-acid-fast, almost virulent type having much in common with the acid-fast strain from which it was isolated, and believed to be a mutant from that strain. There is also evidence that sterile Berkefeld filtrates of cultures of this mutant will cause normal cultures of tubercle bacilli and timothy-grass bacilli to lose their acid-fastness and grow as forms similar to the coccoid granular type of the chromogenic mutant. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
