Glucose tolerance and insulin release, a mathematical approach I. Assay of the beta-cell response after oral glucose loading

Abstract
From txshe dose-response relations between glucose and insulin after oral glucose loading, a reproducible parameter for beta-cell response was deduced. The main advantage of this parameter —corrected insulin response, defined as CIR = I · 100/G(G–70)— lies in it independence from the initial or reached glucose level.
