Abstract
A solid particle erosion facility has been used to study the erosion resistance of a range of infrared materials. The materials include zinc sulphide, germanium, calcium lanthanum sulphide, natural diamond, and chemical vapor deposited (CVD) diamond coatings. The paper concentrates on providing quantitative data on erosion rates and the processes of material loss. Keywords
