Abstract
Deciduomata were evoked in the uteri of pseudopregnant mice by surgical trauma-tization on the 3d day after mating. Vaginal smears were made daily to determine the recurrence of estrus. Unlike the rat, no significant effect on the duration of pseudopregnancy was observed. The mechanism responsible for this marked species difference in response to apparently identical physiologic conditions is obscure. Keywords
