Resection of Malignant Bone Tumors

Abstract
When indications for a radical surgical procedure become apparent in connection with a malignant bone tumor, amputation or enucleation of the extremity concerned is usually chosen. The most imperative task of surgeons involved in oncology should therefore be the search for alternatives to amputation. One such alternative seems to have arisen in connection with radical resectioning of the tumor.
