Abstract
I was recently asked to visit an elderly male resident in a long-stay mental health unit. This man had an atonic bladder which required emptying and had been urethrally catheterized. In addition, he was a schizophrenic suffering from dementia and therefore did not understand why this plumbing attachment followed him around. Keywords
