Abstract
A new single-factor mutation, consisting of a dilution in a "chocolate + brown" strain of the house mouse, is described. It appeared in a highly inbred strain. It has been shown to be non-allelomorphic to blue dilution, and tests indicate no linkage. Tests have also been made with "short-ear," thought to be closely linked with dilution. No linkage with this factor is indicated. No linkage is shown with albinism, black, agouti, hairless, naked, dwarf, waltzing, or dominant spotting. There is indication that the fertility and viability of the somewhat depleted inbred chocolate line was improved following the appearance of the mutation. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
