Abstract
The dynamics of exciton screening in CuCl, following optical injection of a high-density hot plasma, is studied with subpicosecond resolution. A delayed response for exciton bleaching of ∼1 ps is attributed to thermal relaxation of the plasma. The results are compared to a theoretical treatment of the particle density- and temperature-dependent dielectric function. Keywords
