Abstract
Thalassaemia major is an inherited blood disorder affecting 300-400 cases in the UK (1). Approximately 60 per cent of those affected are of Cypriot origin and many of them live in North London. Our hospital treats about a dozen children and adolescents at present, as well as adults. Keywords
