Abstract
Formation of periodontal fibers of deciduous teeth of marmosets were studied. The oblique orientation of mesenchymal cells toward the gingival region of unerupted teeth changed into organized, classically described periodontium only after the tooth became functional. Stresses of occlusion resulted in thickening of individual fibers and fiber groups. Keywords
