Abstract
Infrared spectophotometry using multiple-reflection long-path cells has been investigated as a method for the quantitative analysis of nickel carbonyl and iron penta-carbonyl vapors. By using the very strong carbonyl stretching frequencies near 2000 cm−l, detectability limits of the order of 0.01 to 0.001 ppm can be attained. The method is rapid, specific, and free from interferences; accuracy is estimated as ±10%.Keywords
