Abstract
When 2-5 gs. of 0-ionone were given to rabbits by stomach tube daily for 2-3 wks., the compounds recovered in the urine, representing about 42% of the [beta]-ionone fed, included in the low boiling fraction, the alcohols [beta]-ionol and dihydrb-[beta]-ionol and unchanged [beta]-ionone, and in the O rich, high boiling fraction, hydroxydihydro-[beta]-ionol, hydroxy-0-ionol, hydroxydihydro-[beta]-ionone and hydroxy-[beta]-ionone. The alcohols were dextrorotatory. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
