Abstract
The reaction of diorganotin oxides with many compounds containing active hydrogen proceeds to the formation of di-derivatives. With phenols the reaction stops at the distannoxane stage. The synthesis and characterization of several 1,3-diphenoxydistannoxanes is described. On the basis of molecular weights and other evidence, a structure is proposed for these compounds. Keywords
