Viruses Inactivated by Mustard (Bis( -chloroethyl) Sulfide) as Vaccines

Abstract
Eastern equine encephalitis virus, fixed rabies virus, and hog cholera virus were treated with chemically pure mustard (C1-CH2-CH2)2-S which completely inactivated the viruses while retaining some degree of immunizing ability. In most cases the virus-containing suspensions were twice saturated with mustard soln. although in some cases half saturation was used.
