Abstract
Gamma globulin content of sera from developing embryos and from normal and germ-free chickens of different ages was studied by electrophoresis. It was found that low levels of gamma globulin coincided with low T. cruzi agglutinating activity in embryonic, 4-week-old "normal" and adult germ-free chickens. Newly-hatched "normal" and normal adult birds showed high gamma globulin levels corresponding to high agglutinin indeces. These results strongly suggest that a close correlation exist between serum gamma globulin levels and the antibody.
