Abstract
Lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) that received a physical shock between fertilization and hatching had higher mortality rates than unshocked lake trout embryos. Lowest survival occurred when embryos were shocked during the final stages of epiboly. Comparison of an inland lake stock and a Great Lakes stock indicated that the effect of shocking on embryo survival was stock specific. Keywords
