Abstract
The perovskite‐type oxides LnVO3 (Ln=La‐Lu and Y) containing a trivalent rare‐earth ion and a trivalent vanadium ion were prepared. Magnetic susceptibilities of 15 LnVO3 were measured in the temperature range 60–300 °K. The measurement for DyVO3 was made down to 2 °K, in which the magnetic ordering of the Dy3+ ion was found. All LnVO3 except GdVO3 were antiferromagnets at low temperature. The paramagnetism of GdVO3 persisted down to 60 °K. Most of the materials investigated showed a weak ferromagnetism with an ordering temperature of 88–150 °K.This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
