Deposition of Aerosols in Pulmonary Disease

Abstract
Pathological conditions may possibly affect the deposition of aerosols in the human respiratory tract. Respiratory disease may cause alterations in the pattern of breathing and changes in airway diameter and geometry. These alterations may influence the main mechanisms of deposition—inertial impaction, gravitational sedimentation, Brownian diffusion, and turbulent diffusion.
