Abstract
A chronopotentiometric study of the reaction Pu(III) → Pu(IV) + e− in molten LiCl-KCl eutectic is reported. The diffusion coefficient DPu(III) increased from 4.8.10−6 to 27.6.10−6 cm2 sec−1 when the temperature was raised from 400 to 650°C. An estimate of the activation energy of the electrochemical reaction is also reported. Keywords
