Abstract
The existence of malignant disease during pregnancy is fortunately a rare occurrence. Malignant tumors of the breast or rectum in the age group under 35 are also rarely reported. In an extensive review of the literature not a single case report of multiple primary tumors complicating a pregnancy was found. Because of the relatively few cases of malignancy associated with pregnancy, there is still some confusion concerning the treatment of choice in these cases. Therefore the occurrence of carcinoma of the rectum and of the breast as a complication of pregnancy and the method of treatment are worthy of being reported. REPORT OF A CASE Mrs. C. B., a 22-year-old Negro woman, was first seen in the Santa Rita Clinic on Jan. 31, 1949, with the chief complaint of diarrhea and bloody bowel movements. About four months previously the patient started having seven to eight watery, bloody bowel movements daily. Keywords
