Abstract
Interband magneto-optical transitions were studied in Hg1-xMnxTe mixed crystals for x ranging from 0.001 to 0.155 and in the temperature range 10K-65K. A Pidgeon-Brown model modified by exchange interaction was applied to explain the experimental data. Band-structure parameters and exchange constants were determined as a function of composition and temperature. The values of the magnetisation obtained by fitting the theory of the authors' experimental data differs from those obtained by the usual method. An acceptor state degenerate with the conduction band was observed for zero-gap Hg1-xMnxTe crystals. Keywords
