Abstract
NEUROPATHOLOGICAL changes associated with generalized infectious mononucleosis have frequently been described in the medical literature. The case presented below demonstrated a typical picture of the Guillain–Barré syndrome in which the only manifestation of infectious mononucleosis was a markedly positive heterophil-antibody titer with an associated positive titer in the cerebrospinal fluid.To our knowledge this is the first reported case of this type in which no other manifestations of infectious mononucleosis were present.Case ReportA 4-year-old girl had apparently been in good health until admission to the hospital on February 23, 1955, when she complained of weakness in her left . . .Keywords
