Abstract
Natural interspecific hybridization occurs frequently among members of the common shiner species complex because of their tendency to spawn over the nests of other cyprinids. The combinations Campostoma anomalum .times. Notropis cornutus, N. albeolus .times. N. ardens and N. lutipinnis .times. N. zonistius are described. The hybrids are generally intermediate in morphological and pigmentation characteristics.
