A preliminary study of Negro and White differences on Form I of the Wechsler-Bellevue Scale.

Abstract
White and negro samples each consisting of about 40 psychoneurotic patients matched for mean age and educational level were compared on Form 1 of the Wechsler-Bellevue test. By the "t" test of significance it was found that the negro group had lower mean verbal, performance, and full scale IQ's than the white group. Differences on individual sub-tests are also presented with an interpretation based upon the cultural attitudes and motivation of the negro group.
