Abstract
A national economist recognized for his work in health policy and human resources discusses the realities of economics as they affect some of nursing's most significant goals--education, reimbursement, and utilization. In presenting his outlook for health care and, specifically, nursing, Dr. Ginzberg sees obstacles to progress that are not impassable; he suggests that nursing leaders reassess their agenda and explore which goals can be achieved in the economic climate of the 1980s.
