Abstract
Three problems which have arisen in the use of an interferometer for calibrating Mossbauer spectrometers are (i) mode jumping in the laser, (ii) the digital nature of the signal, (iii) a problem due to the asymmetry of the signal about the mean level. These are discussed, and solution proposed.Keywords
